Immediate Response
The Ayub Medical College, a 1400 bed hospital and teaching facility was initially evacuated due to potential aftershocks causing further damage, death and injury.
Early Response
The first MIST team began working from the Rawalpindi Eye Hospital within four weeks of the disaster.
Over the next 12 days 293 operations were performed utilising 3 concurrent tables.
Late Response
Following a meeting on November 12 2005 between President Musharraf and MIST Director, it was agreed that a Limb Reconstruction Unit was to be set up at Ayub Mecical College, Abbottabad that MIST would continue to support over the coming years.
